National Commemorative Event Commencing: 14:30 PM Place: Horse Guards Parade, London OFFICIAL EVENT - This will be a high impact visual event on Horse Guards Parade involving a live link up with the Falkland Islands. Central to the event will be the personal recollections of veterans and Islanders as they tell their stories in their own words. This event includes a march past and flypast, and will be shown live on BBC Television. Organised by the MOD. Veterans wishing to March, please apply using the link below. Space in the audience at Horse Guards Parade will be limited, and it is hoped that as many as possible of the campaign’s veterans will be able to attend. If demand for tickets is high they will be allocated in priority order: The organisers will endeavour to ensure that as many South Atlantic Medal (1982) holders attend as possible. If necessary they will issue tickets to allow medal holders to march even if tickets are not available for their guests in the stands, however all ticket applications should be made as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Applications can be downloaded completed the posted to Veterans Agency, Room 6108, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 3WP The 25th anniversary of the Falklands Campaign will be commemorated across 8,000 miles and five time zones, in London and the Falkland Islands on 17 June 2007. This will be a high impact visual event on Horse Guards Parade and will include a traditional “Drumhead” ceremony. This will be followed by a parade of veterans and their modern day service counterparts up The Mall to Buckingham Palace to witness a fly past of aircraft from the Falklands era as well as some of those flown by the same squadrons today.
