Calling Armed Forces Veterans

Recently I applied for the veterans ‘recognition card’ at www.britishveterans.co.uk and was quite surprised how quickly it arrived along with a booklet describing the savings and discounts that can be made. It can be frustrating that peoples perception is you must be over 65 to be a veteran and served your country - hence little or no recognition. Not that we want it all the time, every little helps.
So on receiving my new card within 10 days of applying I contacted Virgin Atlantic as we are planning a trip to the US next year, as a last holiday with my family before they fly the nest (Brilliant!! that wasn’t because of the new card though, their to old for family holidays). I was gob smacked to find that I saved over £1,750:00 on the tickets, which has allowed more spending money and an upgrade on our planned vehicle. So if you are a veteran of any armed service, or a member of your family is I can thoroughly recommend applying for your card and use its benefits in full. If it works for you then spread the word, as more and more companies and businesses are signing up to the scheme. I shall be passing details out at the next the Bracknell Royal Naval Association (RNA) meeting to all my shipmates.
